What Happens to the Body During Breathwork?

We teach Conscious Connected Breathing, also called Circular Breathing — a breathing pattern that’s deeper and faster than normal and done entirely through the mouth, with no pause between inhale and exhale. This breath pattern:

  • Reduces CO₂, prompting the body to alkalize the blood
  • Saturates your body with oxygen
  • Triggers transient hypofrontality, quieting the frontal lobe — the part of the brain responsible for the ego, mental constructs, and your inner critic
  • Gives you access to intuition, deep wisdom, and  clarity
  • Stimulates the vagus nerve through deep belly breathing
  • Improves vagal tone, heart rate  variability, and activates parasympathetic relaxation — your body’s natural healing state
  • Clears stored trauma, grief, and emotional blockages from the nervous system

  

Common Physical Sensations During Breathwork

Everyone’s experience is different, but common sensations include:

  • Tingling in the hands, feet, or face
  • Dizziness or light-headedness
  • Muscle tightness in the jaw or hands

How It's Done

  • Lie down in a private, comfortable space — in-person or online
  • Breathe: inhale into the belly, into the chest, and exhale out — without a pause
  • A dynamic soundtrack helps guide your experience and encourage emotional release
  • The active breathing lasts 25–30 minutes, and you are fully supported throughout
  • It’s powerful and profound — and while it may feel intense at first, you’ve done harder things than lying on the floor breathing for half an hour
